Observe:
1. In the picture I see a bunch of African Americans sitting around doing nothing maybe waiting for a bus or something. I also see a lot of advertisements for Coca Cola. The photo was shot in Selma, Alabama.
3.The only people I see are 5 African Americans. Out of the 5 people, four are sitting outside the shop. Also, I see signs advertising Coca Cola. There is also a sign that is advertising for something that will happen on Oct. 31. I can not see the rest of the sign besides from the date shown.
5.The only thing I can find on the actual location of the store and where the photo was taken, I only found it was taken in Selma, Alabama. There was no further information provided by memory.Loc.gov.

3.The photo was taken/ published in December of 1935.
8.There would probably be more racial diversity if the photo was taken now. At this time, blacks were segregated from white people.
9.Right now, our economy is also very bad and there are a lot of people out of work. I can imagine people sitting in front of a store just becuase they don't have anything else to do.

Observe:
1. In this picture, I see dying corn crops. The corn looks like it is drying up more than anything. The field doesn't look like it is being taken care of either.
2. The first thing I noticed while looking at this picture was that there are a lot of empty spaces corn could have been planted before they died.
7.I can see that this corn farm spans a large area. All you can see against the horizon is corn stalks which also leads me to think that this was once a great farm.
Reflect:
1. I can imagine a picture like this being attached to a message about how the economy was dying or to show how bad things have gotten since the Great Depression.
3. The website says that this picture was taken in June of 1936.
6. After observing this picture for a while, I can come to a conclusion that the owner of the field was going through some hard times. The corn look dry and un attended to. This can be because he doesn't have the money to do so.

2. What really happened here to make these crops fail?
3. When did the owner start to neglect his fields?

Observe:
1. In the picture, I see a grocery store and cafe that don't seem to be doing too well because there aren't that many people inside from what I can tell.
2. When first looking at the picture I noticed all the prices on the grocery store window. The picture was taken long enough ago that three Irish Potatoes are ten cents.
3. I can only see one person in this picture. He is standing in the door of the cafe just starring out. Other objects I notices were that some items from the grocery store lay on the sidewalk. Reflect:
1. I think this picture was made to show people how bad things were and how no one was buying anything and money wasn't making it's way around.
7. The lack of people is a tell tale sign that the economy isn't as good as it should be. Normally people should be bustling around running errands but now, the streets are barren.
8. If this photo was taken today, the prices on the windows would change drastically. Even at a dollar store, you can't buy anything for 15 cents. Question:

1. In this picture, I see black men waiting outside of a "Color Only" hotel.
2. The first thing I noticed in the picture, was the sing that said "The Best Service for Colored Only".
3. The only people I see in this picutre are those who are waiting outside of the hotel. Reflect:
1. I think that this picutre was made to show racial/ ethnical descrimination during the time period.
6. From examaning the picture, I can tell that "colored" people also had their own places.
8. If the picture was taken today, there would defineitly be no sign that says "Colored only" becuase that is a crime now. Question:

1. In this picture, I see a "colored" man waiting for a coach in the designated "Colored Waiting Room"
2. The first thing I noticed was the "colored" man that seemed unhappy waiting under a "Colored Waiting Room".
6. Some signs I noticed werer the signs advertising a Bingo night, Hitler's love life, and another with a tropical picture on it. The text on the last one is too light to read. Reflect:
1. I think this picture was to display how many "colored" people where dis pleased by the segregation laws.
3. The picutre was probably taken in the 1930s.
8. IF this picture was taken today, the coach would prabably be replaced by a transit bus and the descriminating sign would be gone. Question:

1. In this picture I see a small child waiting next to a sign.
2. The first thingI noticed was the boy looked displeased making it seem that he understood everything about being descriminated.
7. Upon further observation, I realsied it was a niehgborhood and the niehgborhaood was probably a colored on.

1. I think this photo was made to show that even kids are affected by descrimination.
5. I think that the kid was told to stand next to the sign to convey a certain message.
